Fashionably late! (it's not even sunny yet ...)

This season has been a bit topsy-turvy for us but we are delighted to be able to finally unveil our new SS12 collection!

We've gone a bit bonkers for print with our cute birds-on-a-wire silk pieces and the amazing palm-tree denim print. Totally obsessed with the bermuda shorts and peg-leg trousers too, think rolled-up boyfriend fit.

However, if you'd like to celebrate the Silver Jubilee summer with a bit of understated elegance, then our linen blend sailor jacket and dress could be just the ticket.

a little spring in our step

What with our exit from Islington last month this Spring has been a little up in the air, but we're very excited to be able to finally show you a little sneaky-peek of our new own-label SS12 pieces! Yes, they're a little late getting online, but we hope you'll forgive us this indiscretion and instead embrace the amazing coral tap shoes and silk pussy-bow blouses.

We could eat 'em right up!  [creamy smoked salmon tagliatelle for lunch anyone?]

Personal favourites are the polka/palm denim pieces (peg leg trousers and pussy-bow yoke dresses) and the beautiful silk bird-on-a-wire print dresses and tops which feature contrast cerise silk details.  They're being photographed for our eshop right now so we'll be giving you a heads up on when you can view the collection in full very soon ... watch this space!

Not one for the Creationists

We believe in good old Evolution here at Labour of Love, especially when it comes to shoes. Poor old Charlie D. would be turning in his grave if he could read this superficial fashion nonsense. Anyhow, 'tis true, our beloved Jazz shoes have undergone a subtle design evolution and turned into our latest love affair ... the Labour of Love own-brand Tap shoe!

We're incredibly proud of the resounding success of our Jazz shoes but we tend to get itchy feet [no, not athletes foot, but thanks for the concern] and really wanted to develop them into a new object of love. So, we've added a stacked heel and slightly elongated the shape for a more elegant feel. We've also moved production to Italy so you get the finest and softest leathers for a super-comfy classic shoe.

There are 8 colours available online including the classic tan, black and pewter, but also the rather spangalicious gold and navy patent.

A lovely write up on the CircusBox blog that makes us want to don polka-dot top 'n' tails and a sequin collar!

What's that i hear?  You beg to disagree?  Well you need to pop along to the book launch of Fabulous In High Heels in that case ... Thursday 10 February 5-7pm

The brain-child of ballerina Sarah Toner has been brought to life by the fab illustrations of Ivana Nohel (who happens to be our window-display maverick, dontchaknow).  The book and accompanying classes teach you how to not look like a newborn pterodactyl with rickets when wearing heels ... hurrah!

Sale away with us

Jan.12.2009 0 comments

Oops, sorry, it's a bit late but the sale started last week...

With 30% off the seasonal collections it would be rude not to come have a nose around. As usual we only had one of each size in each style to begin with so it's a bit of a 'crap shoot' as a yank would say. There is more stock than usual though, current climate etc. yadda, yadda, yadda...

You'll also find the reductions in the E-shop if you aren't from round these parts. Fill your boots - hell, buy some new ones while you're there, we do have some nice Eley Kishimoto ones that would look great with that outfit you have on.

We've built it, now hopefully they'll come...

Finally the e-shop is up and running!  We think it looks mighty fine and would like to point out that it's all down to the lovely phoebe and all the guys at farfetch and pretty much nothing to do with us. We will, however, be basking in the reflected glory for a bit then trying to get alot more stuff on there for you to peruse. Go on then; click it.
